About PDF Tools
PDF Tools is a free set of tools for the PDFs everyday life is full of: contracts to sign, forms to fill in, photos of documents to send. Everything runs in your browser, so your files stay on your device.
Why we built it
Most PDF websites ask you to upload your documents to their servers before they can do anything with them. That is a lot to ask for a contract, a bank letter or a copy of your ID.
Phones and laptops are now fast enough to do this work themselves. PDF Tools signs, fills in, merges and organises your PDFs inside your browser, so there is nothing to upload and nothing for us to keep.
Made for phones first
Many people handle their paperwork on a phone, often an older one on a slow connection. The app is built for that: you sign with your finger, pages load only when you scroll to them, and it keeps working without a connection once it has loaded.
You can install it on your phone or computer like an app. On a computer, you can scan a QR code and sign on your phone instead of fighting with a mouse.
What you can do
Sign PDFs with a drawn, typed or photographed signature, plus initials, dates, text and ticks. Fill in PDF forms, with your details remembered on your device if you want. Merge PDFs and images into one document, reorder, rotate, delete or split pages, and turn photos into a PDF.
Every tool opens the same studio, so the result of one step stays open for the next: turn photos into a PDF, then sign it, then add another file, and download when you are done.
Free, without limits
There are no limits on how many files you open or how often you use the tools, and no watermarks. Because the work happens on your device, the service costs little to run.
To cover hosting, we may show a small number of ads on information pages such as these. Never in the studio, where your documents are open.
Languages
PDF Tools is available in English and French. Kinyarwanda is next.
